Finding Health & Happiness with ShutTheKaleUp

My name is Jeannette Ogden and I live in Orange County, CA with my husband and my little guy, Elliott Grey. It was about five years ago that I first became interested in health and fitness. I became intrigued by it all so quickly and pursued it to the fullest because leading a healthy, balanced life was all I ever wanted after struggling with an eating disorder. During that time, I got laid off from a stressful job I wasn't ever going to leave, and it all changed. It was like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders and I was HAPPY. I got to do some things I had wanted to do for a long time like, take a teacher training yoga class and plan my wedding which was happening a few short months after. When my husband and I got married, it was like my eating disorder no longer existed and I had finally found balance. I loved cooking and being in my new kitchen. Shortly after, shutthekaleup was born! I never expected my Instagram account to reach many people, but it did and I'm so grateful to be able to share health tips, my go-tos, recipes and a part of my life.

This year, my family and I have decided to focus on a non-toxic lifestyle. Little by little, we'll be replacing household items such as personal hygiene products to pots and pans with non-toxic, environmentally friendly versions. I know it's a whole lot of change, but we already lead a healthy lifestyle so it's something we feel like we need to do to better our way of living. I got inspired by the way we eat, all organic, pasture-raised, grass-fed, local, etc. I'm also wanting to better mine and my family's life since we have our boy, Elliott to look after.

Besides eating well, drinking pure, quality water is important. Having a bottle with me at all times makes me drink more, and being that I'm a breastfeeding mama, my hydration has to be on point. Nowadays, there's a huge selection of water brands, and before committing, I like to do my research. That's when I heard about Icelandic Glacial and how they were the world's FIRST bottled water certified as CarbonNeutral. The water is also incredibly pure, and naturally alkaline! You just can't go wrong!

It's the sweetest thing to be in such a loving community of people who have the same interests and way of living. I love how people can come together from all over the world and geek out on health food like I do. It's crazy how social media has created a place to go if you want inspiration on what to cook, wear or even how to decorate your home! I’d love to hear your tips and tricks for living a non-toxic lifestyle! Feel free to touch base with me through message or comment on Instagram!
