About You:

We are seeking a detail-oriented ACCOUNTING MANAGER to join our finance team in Los Angeles. This role is hybrid in terms of office and remote work. Responsibilities include helping to lead the month-end close, managing a team of two (our Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable leads), managing trade-spend, and performing analyses as needed.

Primary Areas of Responsibility:

  • Help to lead the month end close, focusing primarily on general ledger and full cycle accounting, including performing preparation and review of journal entries to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Supervise and guide our AR and AP staff accountants, who also manage other aspects of the month end close.
  • Lead the management and analysis of trade-spend and other investments
  • Take lead role on more complex vendor/customer reconciliations and train staff on proper resolution and account maintenance
  • Manage prepaid expenses, accruals, bank reconciliations, and fixed assets including related depreciation/amortization
  • Maintain relationships with supporting departments, vendors, and customers to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions
  • Participate in cross-training to support team as needed

What It Takes:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance or accounting
  • CPA (preferred but not required)
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in accounting/finance
  • Experience with NetSuite
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to include pivots, if statements, VLOOKUPS, keyboard short cuts
  • Preferably experience in the Food, Beverage, or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Industry
