Senior Brand Manager

We are looking for our next team member to join the Icelandic Glacial marketing team, leading strategic and tactical marketing efforts for the brand. The Senior Brand Manager will identify and drive on trend marketing strategies tailored to our consumer target to drive purchase at retail and online. This position requires strategic thinking, creativity, and a hands-on approach.  Reporting into the head of marketing, you will maintain strong peer relationships with the other functions of the company (sales, finance, logistics, supply chain, etc.) along with the global Icelandic Glacial team as we push towards high growth for the company. This position will have direct management responsibilities and the potential of additional headcount. Will also have day to day management responsibilities of our agency partners, social media, PR agency, Amazon business partner, media agency, and international distributors.

Sr. Brand Manager responsibilities, but not limited to:

Brand Strategy Development: 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive brand strategy that aligns with the company's vision, mission, and business goals, in addition to consumer, category, and market trends.  Able to take a general management mindset and confidently present strategic, data-driven recommendations to manager and senior leadership.
  • Design and conduct market research to understand the competitive landscape, target audience, and market trends to inform strategic decisions.  

Brand Identity and Positioning: 

  • Create and define a unique brand identity, including leveraging existing visual elements, brand voice, and messaging that resonates with the target audience.
  • Position the brand effectively in the market, differentiating it from competitors and establishing a unique value proposition.

Innovation Pipeline:

  • Create an innovation pipeline on extending the Icelandic Glacial brand. You will be responsible for the concept to launch.
  • Use trend reports & syndicated category data to identify market gaps and areas to push IG innovation.
  • Develop consumer brief and need state for each innovation launch.
  • Develop launch plans for innovation and set measurable goals to ensure innovation success.

Marketing Campaigns and Promotions: 

  • Work with the Marketing team to plan and execute marketing campaigns across various channels (digital, social media, etc.) to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop channel & account specific promotional strategies and materials that align with brand messaging and drive sales.
  • Manage the briefing & development of consumer communication plans for both national and customer specific plans.

Content Creation and Project Management: 

  • Work with the Sr. Brand Designer & Agency on creation of engaging and relevant content for marketing channels, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines.
  • Work with the agency/others to manage IG’s social media presence, developing a content calendar and engaging with the audience to build brand loyalty.

Analytics and Reporting: 

  • Work with the Brand Manager on reporting; use syndicated, consumer and customer data to identify business insights and recommend solutions that optimize results. Develop monthly/quarterly business reviews and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and strategies, using data to make informed adjustments.
  • Provide regular reports on brand performance, market trends, and consumer feedback (“voice of the customer”) to senior management.

Stakeholder Collaboration: 

  • Understands the business at an account/channel level and collaborates with our On Premise & Sales teams to develop custom marketing programs to drive the business in those accounts/channels.
  • Work closely with internal teams (sales, customer service) and external partners to ensure a cohesive brand experience.
  • Select and liaise with external agencies and partners to execute branding and marketing initiatives.  Continuously monitor agency performance and calculate ROIs.

Budget Management: 

  • Work with Head of Marketing on budget planning process; manage the brand marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
  • Mentor and train junior team members to develop their skills and knowledge in brand management.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in brand marketing at an established CPG company and an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, particularly in building brand identity and executing marketing campaign.  Have a consumer-first approach, grounded in a passion and curiosity for consumer insights.
  • Strong understanding of the CPG industry and market dynamics.   A strategic, general management mindset and experience with P&L ownership.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.  Is a collaborator with ability to inspire and influence others, either as the leader or as a member of the team.
  • Creative problem solver who is an expert at rolling up your sleeves and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Natural self-starter, comfortable taking the lead with limited resources while still achieving strong results. 
  • Proficient in marketing analytics tools and social media platforms.  A deep understanding of how to read, interpret and build models from syndicated data such as Nielsen.
  • A passion for brand building and storytelling.
  • Strong project management skills, with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
